Very Important Points for the 5th National ICT Competition

In the training session conducted on April 22, 2016. The following issues are raised:

Note

  • For the mid term evaluation, all participants(competitors) must present their app project only using the above template guideline.
  • For the mid term evaluation, all participants must demonstrate the main functionlities of their app.

 

 


To All 5th National ICT innovation Competition Participants

This is to inform you that there will be half a day training session for all competitors on the coming Friday April 25, 2016 (Miazia 14, 2008 E.C) Morning from 8:30AM to 12:30PM (2:30-6:30 Local Time).

Venue: Addis Ababa University, Technology Campus (AAiT) 5 kilo, Auditorium.

If you are out of Addis Ababa or unable to attend the training, we will upload the whole training session recorded video on our website and we will
send you training slides via email.

 5th National ICT Innovation Competition 2015/16

  • If ... you develop software and want to show your software to a national audience, on TV, Radio, Newspapers ...
  • If ... you want to get a chance to meet and network with different organizations, companies, important people in ICT, potential partners and sponsors, and build a network that can help you
  • IF ... you want win awards of up to 75,000 Birr - Seventy Five Thousand Birr and get a chance at making money with the software you've developed

Then - Apply to Win in the 5th National ICT Innovation Competition

Categories

o General Category

o Women-Only Category

Eligibility 

o Ethiopian Citizen 

o Individual (in group) applicants who is(are) the owner of the work/idea   

o Original work which is not used for other competition/commercial purpose.

Juries  

o The panel of juries will consist highly qualified personnel from Ethiopia/around the world.

Prize for both categories:

o 1st Prize winner: 75,000 ETB and more...     
o 2nd Prize winner: 50,000 ETB and more...

o 3rd Prize winner: 25,000 ETB and more...

Requirements: Your software/application has to contribute to Ethiopia's socio-economic development - or  - has great market potential.

NB: In the beginning, the applicant is only expected to submit the abstract of the project/idea after short period of time the applicant is expected to demonstate the application he/she developed.

ICT Center of Excellence

The ICT Center of Excellence (CoE) was established as a vehicle for rapid development of ICT, and as a catalyst to help realize the promise of ICT as a key enabler and accelerator of socio-economic development.

The Center of Excellence aims to utilize innovation based on high quality research and development, training, consulting, and technology transfer, to drive rapid advances of ICT, and its deployment for breakthrough results in national development. ICT CoE will do this by developing networks of partnerships with organizations, both public and private, and local as well as international. These partnerships will enable the CoE to develop into a hub or focal point that will mobilize a wide range of resources.
